Welcome to the Kwazulu-Natal Family History Society.

We meet once a month. We have speakers as well as workshops. Visitors are most welcome.

If you are a newcomer to family research, our experienced members will gladly assist and point you in the right direction.

We have an extensive library which contains a wealth of material to assist genealogical researchers.

The PMB Archives are open Monday to Friday and on the 2nd Saturday of the month. KZN FHS members are on duty on the Saturday to assist you with your research.

The Natal Midlands Branch of the Genealogical Society of South Africa is located in the Midlands but serves anyone with an interest in genealogy and family history in the whole of the inland region of KwaZulu-Natal. The branch is currently under the curatorship of the Kwazulu-Natal Family History Society.

RESEARCH

Our members are amateur researches and concentrate on researching their families, however we are able to assist with lookups at the PMB Archives, local cemeteries, and churches. There is generally a small fee associated with these look ups to cover costs etc.

It is important to send us what ever information you already have, e.g. Estate File Numbers, Graveyard where the person may be or is buried, church denomination, etc.

All Research inquiries must be directed to research@kznfamilyhistory.org.za.

We will then assign it to the relevant researches who will tackle the research in their private capacities and may charge for their services.
